Read the update

On March 2, 2020, Dr. Teresa Amott, president of Knox College, announced that she will retire in June 2021.

Since joining the Knox community in 2011, President Amott has focused her efforts on the creation and implementation of a strategic plan that called for advancing the College’s distinctive approach to a liberal arts education for the 21st century. Her tenure has seen the renovation and re-opening of Alumni Hall, the construction of the Whitcomb Art Building, and the first phase of a building-wide transformation of the Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center.

As the search for her replacement begins, President Amott emphasizes that there is still work to be done during her remaining time on campus. Two of those items include the remaining phases of the re-imagined Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center and the construction of a year-round center for learning at Green Oaks Biological Field Station.
