Knox College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), “an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region . . .” (HLC 2019).

Knox College is authorized to operate in the state of Illinois by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).

Knox is also accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS).

In May of 2020, Knox received notice from the Higher Learning Commission that the College has been reaccredited for another ten years.
