Nearly 1,000 alumni and friends of Knox College returned to campus to celebrate Homecoming 2008.
The weekend featured close to 100 different events for alumni to enjoy. The festivities began on Friday, October 31, with alumni attending classes with students, the dedication of Borzello Hall and Turner Track, an alumni symposium on presidential debates in American politics, induction of the Knox-Lombard Hall of Fame's newest members, and the "Taste of Galesburg All-Class Reception that evening. New this year was a Halloween party for students, alumni, and their families.
Saturday started with the 5K run/walk and Convocation, followed by the alumni and faculty book signing. The Knosher Bowl was formally dedicated, followed by the Prairie Fire's defeat of Lake Forest in the last home game of the season. The night ended with the Homecoming dinner and dance.

Alumni Symposium More than 200 alumni attended "Is Anybody Watching: The Presidential Debate in American Politics," a discussion led by moderator Robert Seibert '63, professor of political science; Rodney Davis and Douglas Wilson, co-directors of the Lincoln Studies Center; television news reporter Robert Jamieson '65; Michael Lawrence '64, director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute; and Norm Winick '74, newspaper publisher. |

"Taste of Galesburg" All-Class Reception Alumni gathered in T. Fleming Fieldhouse for an all-class informal reception. Hors d'oeuvres were provided by downtown Galesburg restaurants -- Cherry Street "Mud," Pizza House pizza, Landmark spinach bisque, Packinghouse cinnamon rolls, Uncle Billy's spinach bread, and much more!

After the dedication of the Knosher Bowl on November 1, the officiating crew invited Harley Knosher to conduct the coin toss before the game. Knosher was presented with the coin, which was engraved "Knox-Lake Forest, November 1, 2008, Harley Knosher Bowl" in honor of the event. |

Football vs. Lake Forest Knox College gave the 700 plus alumni who attended the Homecoming football game something to celebrate; a much needed and deserved victory over Lake Forest, 38-27. After the win, Knox College President Roger Taylor '63 was given the game ball.
