Schedule The schedule for the 2008 Commencement-related activities can be found below. Friday, June 6: Senior Pumphandle 11:00 a.m. Don't miss out on this great Knox College tradition that takes place every year on Seymour North Lawn. Senior Challenge Results and Toast 12:30 p.m. (following Pumphandle) Come to the Oak Room for a tribute from the Knox community to the senior class, with a toast given by a surprise toastmaster and the announcement of the Senior Challenge results. Faculty Luncheon with Seniors 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Seniors are invited to enjoy a fantastic lunch with the faculty and staff of Knox College in Hard Knox Cafe. Commencement Rehearsal 3:00 p.m. The Commencement rehearsal is mandatory for those students who want to participate in the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 7. South lawn of Old Main. Rain location is T. Fleming Fieldhouse. Reception 8:00–10:00 p.m. A reception for seniors, their families, trustees, faculty, and staff will be held at the courtyard of the Best Western Prairie Inn, 300 South Soangetaha Road, Galesburg. In the event of inclement weather, the reception will be moved inside to the Best Western Ballroom.
Saturday, June 7: Hospitality for Commencement Guests 8:30-10:00 a.m. Rolls, coffee, tea, and water will be available for Commencement guests in the lobby of Seymour Union. Non-Denominational Prayer Service 8:45-9:05 a.m. Knox College's Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is sponsoring this short time of prayer in the Carl Sandburg Study Lounge of Seymour Union. Graduates and families are welcome. Commencement Lineup 9:00 a.m. Graduating seniors will line up for Commencement in the lobby of Ford Center for the Fine Arts, with the rain location at T. Fleming Fieldhouse. Commencement 10:00 a.m. The 2008 Commencement ceremony will be held on the South Lawn of Old Main, with the rain location at T. Fleming Fieldhouse. The fieldhouse will be utilized only in the event of serious inclement weather. Knox has always given priority to graduating seniors and their families when it comes to seating and ticket distribution. Picnic Lunch 12:00 p.m. A picnic lunch will be served on the lawn south of Seymour Union. Attendance is limited to graduates, their families, trustees, faculty, staff, and invited guests with tickets. In the event of inclement weather, the picnic will be held in Seymour Union.
