The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is designed to prepare underrepresented undergraduate students for the rigors of doctoral studies through involvement in research experiences and other scholarly activities.  This Federal TRIO program is one of over 200 across the United States funded by a grant from the Department of Education. Our namesake is that of Dr. Ronald E. McNair, a NASA astronaut and laser physicist who was aboard the Challenger in the 1986 tragedy.  McNair Scholars are part of a legacy dedicated to the high standards of achievement that Dr. McNair inspired.
