If you are completing your high school education via homeschooling, you should apply as a homeschooled student. If you are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, you should apply as an International Applicant. (Undocumented immigrants residing in the U.S. should apply as homeschooled applicants.)
On your application, you can list a parent as your school counselor, and that parent can complete the School Report. Your parent should also provide a transcript or other detailed documentation which lists the subjects studied each year, a description of each course of study, and major texts used or literature read.
Teacher Evaluation*
On your application, identify a teacher to submit a recommendation. This can be provided by a parent or by another instructor of your academic courses.
Interview
An interview with an admission counselor is required for homeschooled applicants. If you are not able to visit campus or meet with an admission counselor in your area before the application deadline, we are also able to conduct interviews by phone or the internet. Contact the Office of Admissions to schedule an interview.
ACT or SAT Scores
Test scores should be submitted directly from the testing agency to the Knox College Office of Admissions.
*A note on school reports, recommendations, and transcripts: After identifying your counselor and teacher on your application, they will be invited to complete their forms online. If they prefer to mail your School Report, Mid Year Report, transcript, and/or recommendations, they can be mailed directly to the Knox College Office of Admissions.
