J. Mark Wilson joins Advancement Office

J. Mark Wilson, former president and CEO of the Galesburg Community Foundation, has been named director of major gifts at Knox College.

Prior to his position at the Galesburg Community Foundation, Wilson served as director and senior director of major gifts at Monmouth College and Bradley University.

"Mark Wilson brings to Knox considerable skill and ability as a fundraising professional, both in the community and in academia, and I look forward to having him on board as we continue to chart a course towards financial impregnability for Knox College," said Knox College President Roger Taylor.

Wilson is a Galesburg native and graduate of Galesburg High School and Monmouth College. He begins work at Knox on February 11.

"We are fortunate that Mark is joining our major gifts team," said Robert King, director of major and planned gifts at Knox. "In addition to his outstanding abilities as a fundraiser and personal understanding of the value of a liberal arts education, Mark's appreciation for both Galesburg and Knox College will continue to strengthen the bond between the two."

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 44 nations. Knox's 'Old Main' is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
