Knox College is excited to introduce Cornerstone Donors, a new annual giving society that recognizes donors who make a commitment of at least $500,000 in unrestricted annual fund contributions over a five year period.  This new giving society takes its name from the iconic cornerstone at the base of Alumni Hall, which was laid by then U.S. President Benjamin Harrison.

“Like the cornerstone of Alumni Hall, an historic building that serves current and future students, Cornerstone Donors are essential to the solid foundation of support of Knox College today and into the future,” said President C. Andrew McGadney.

Unrestricted annual giving plays a critical role in funding the operations of the College’s most important and foundational priorities, including financial aid, the academic, co-curricular, and residential programs. To date, eight donors have joined the Cornerstone Donors Giving Society , and Knox looks forward to growing membership as the Venture Boldly comprehensive campaign continues toward the $175 million goal.

“I am grateful to the members of our community who recognize the importance of unrestricted annual support, and have chosen to give back to our college in this way. These alumni, parents, and friends believe in the power of the education and experience we provide at Knox, and are committed to helping us to thrive,” added President McGadney. “Annual giving to the Knox Fund, whether $5 or $500,000, is a sign that Knox’s mission remains relevant and essential in today’s society and also illustrates the power of collective action. If we each invest in what we believe in, at whatever level we are able, we can have an outsized impact.”

Contributions to the Knox Fund in fiscal year 2025 were over $6-million, and have totaled nearly $25-million over the last four years. The Venture Boldly campaign recently crossed the $125-million mark, more than 70% towards the $175-million goal. Knox Fund gifts make up 20% of the  campaign’s current total.
