Richter Awards

All Knox students are invited to apply for a Richter Grant to fund independent research and creative work

What do you want to do to take your education beyond the classroom?

Research how bioplastics break down in small-scale compost systems. Present research at the American Chemical Society's annual conference. Create an art exhibit about queer identity in nature. Participate in an intensive dance program in Los Angeles.

Students can apply for funding to support an Honors project, senior research, independent research, experiential learning projects, and travel to present at a professional conference.

Paul K. and Evalyn Elizabeth Cook Richter Memorial Fund

Since 1995, the Richter Memorial Fund has provided more than $1.25 million to help you pursue projects that promote independent thinking and expression beyond the classic classroom setting.

  • Supplies for laboratory experiments, art projects, and more
  • Travel associated with presenting research at a professional conference
  • Fieldwork in the U.S. and abroad
  • Housing for summer research and internships
