The Knox College Choir is Knox’s large concert chorus, and performs works from across the entire choral spectrum — especially music that is rich in color and sumptuous in scale. The group regularly sings with instrumental ensembles for grand effect, partners with choirs in the city and region, and tours annually, and every week our singers hone their craft, practicing the skills of making music. All of this is made possible by the Choir’s diverse membership: singers may pursue any major, and hail from every corner of the student body, together forming a tapestry of voices.
A select group of KCC members form the Knox College Chamber Singers, the most advanced vocal ensemble at the College. All members of the Chamber Singers belong to the KCC. The Choir and its Chamber Singers regularly perform with their resident instrumental ensemble, the Knox College Players, a partnership between the College and the Knox-Galesburg Symphony.
The Knox College Choir, Players, and Chamber Singers are directed by Dr. Bram Wayman.
The Knox College Choirs rehearse regularly in C.F.A., the Ford Center for the Performing Arts (building no. 65 on the campus map). The Knox College Players do not rehearse regularly: KCP rehearsals only take place immediately before performances.
