4 Ways to Experience Your Education
1. Get involved in a production.
Outside of the classroom, there are plenty of opportunities to enrich your education and get involved. Performance and production opportunities include:
- Harbach Theatre Productions offer students a chance to work closely with faculty directors. In addition to auditioning, students serve as stage managers and co-designers for these shows.
- Studio Theatre is a laboratory for student experimentation. Each show is chosen, directed, designed, and constructed entirely by students.
- Playground gives student actors and directors the chance to help develop their fellow students' work. Each play is given a staged reading and 10 hours of rehearsal, allowing you to gain valuable experience in New Works Development as a playwright, director, or actor.
- Volunteer in the costume and scene shops. Student technicians are the workforce behind the mainstage shows, and you'll be a welcome addition no matter your skill level. If you volunteer consistently, you may even be offered a position as a scene shop or costume shop employee.
2. Delve into research or a creative project.
Many of our majors—and minors—pursue College Honors or other research and creative projects. Some even present or perform their work at national and international conferences.

3. Study off campus.
Studying theatre off campus is a great experience for Knox students. Some have studied with the Roger Williams University London Program, attending plays and visiting cultural sites around the city. Studying conservatory acting at the Gaiety School of Acting provides an immersive experience in Dublin while honing students' performance skills abroad.
4. Explore life after Knox through an internship.
There's no better way to explore the possibilities of life after Knox than internships. Here are a few of our students' recent internships (many found with the assistance from the Bastian Family Career Center):
