Knox-Rush Cooperative Program

Knox offers a cooperative program with Rush University College of Nursing. Through this program, you can receive a bachelor's degree from Knox and a master's degree (GEM) from Rush, which prepares you for Clinical Nursing Leader (CNL) certification.

To take advantage of this program, you must complete the required preparatory biology and chemistry courses for nursing study while at Knox in addition to gaining a broad background in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.  Participants may study any major field they wish, provided the required science courses are completed.  Students interested in nursing may wish to consider the minor in Health Studies, although this is not a requirement for admission to the cooperative program.

Upon completion of your bachelor's degree -- with cumulative and pre-requisite science GPAs of 3.0 or higher, a recommendation from the Dean of the College, and a successful interview with Rush's College of Nursing -- you will have a guaranteed seat in the Graduate Entry Master's program at Rush, which culminates in a master's degree following twenty-four months of study. GRE scores are not required. Program participants must matriculate to Rush within nine months of graduating from Knox. Program alumni will typically sit for both RN and CNL certification upon the completion of training.
