Please tell us what you’ve been doing since graduating from Knox.

These past two years I have been studying voice privately and working in the box offices of the MN Opera in Minneapolis and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Describe your time at Knox and the impact your education has had on your after-Knox life.

Knox offered me the flexibility to combine disciplines and pursue my interest in visual and musical studies. I was able to explore art history, study voice, perform opera, and complete an Honors thesis on opera staging. Writing my Honors thesis greatly influenced my decision to pursue graduate studies in musicology, and TA-ing for music and art history classes allowed me to realize my enjoyment of teaching.

Can you describe a favorite memory or two from your time at Knox?

After my Honors defense, my committee took me and my outside examiner out to dinner. Being able to talk with my professors, enjoy each other's company, and celebrate the success of my defense was a very special conclusion to my senior year.

Why is Knox important to you?

Knox is important because of its professors and students. Professors do important research and teaching and encourage their students to do the same. Professors are incredibly personable and truly care about their students' growth.
