Assistant Director for Campus Life
Amanda originally thought she wanted to be a physical chemist, so she pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry for 3 years before realizing that was not her passion and mastering out. Getting a Master of Science in Chemistry from Emory University, Amanda went on to graduate from Western Illinois University with her second Master of Science degree, this time in College Student Personnel. She started working in the Campus Life Office at Knox College in July 2019. In her role as the Coordinator for Residential, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Amanda supervises resident assistants, oversees all fraternity and sorority chapters and councils, coordinates student leader selection, and assists with teaching IDIS 130: Introduction to Leadership, among other duties. Amanda seeks to better the student experience and strives to make Knox a more inclusive space for all students. Amanda is also the advisor of the Anime Club, and if anyone is wondering, her favorite anime is InuYasha! She enjoys watching anime, playing video games, reading, and spending time with family and friends–mostly her partner and children, and by children, she means cats!
