Independent research, scholarship, and creative work are the hallmark of our educational program.
An estimated 89% of our students complete an independent research or creative project by the time they graduate, and 53% report working on a research project with a faculty member outside of course or program requirements-much higher than the 37% reported at peer institutions.
The Gerald and Carol Vovis Center for Research and Advanced Study is here to assist students pursuing undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative work.
The Richter Memorial Fund provides funding for independent research and creative work. The ASSET program focuses on the creation of intellectual and social dialogues amongst a small cohort of juniors and provides funding to pursue intensive, individual projects. The Vovis center also supports applications to national and international fellowships and scholarships that support various fields of graduate studies and career exploration, including Fulbright Fellowships.
