Recruit student volunteers with the Kleine Center!
The Center for Community Service works with students, faculty, staff and with local community leaders to identify volunteer opportunities where the College can collaborate with local organizations and agencies on service projects.
Volunteer projects coordinated with the Center fall into two categories:
Submitting events is easy! Complete this online partner application/event submission form to submit your proposal to the Center. If you are not ready to submit an application form, but would like to explore your idea further, make an appointment with the Center by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Center needs to receive requests for volunteers three weeks in advance for short-term event submissions. Long-term event submissions will continue to be accepted, with plans to implement them beginning Fall 2016.
The Center will look at the submission and, pending approval, advertise your event to all students on campus via email. From there, students can sign up to participate. Once a list of volunteers is generated, the Center contacts the community partner with the volunteers' information and confirms a time and place. The students are then reminded of the event with the location and transport information.
For short term or one-time events the students provide their own transportation unless the community partner makes other arrangements. For long term opportunities, the Center works with each partner to address transportation needs.
Yes, arrangements can be made for you to visit the campus. We can arrange a "meet and greet," where we would reserve a room and invite students to attend a presentation or informational meeting. Additionally, at the beginning of January the Center co-hosts the Winter Club & Volunteer Fair. The Fair is an opportunity for our community partners to come to campus and interact directly with students.
Knox College works with a three term academic calendar. We have black-out times at the beginning and the end of each term to allow for students to settle in after break or to focus on academics during final exams. See the Knox College academic calendar to see when our terms begin and end.
