Goals for FP

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Write a short essay that, with clarity and acccuracy, presents a convincing argument or analysis;

  2. Contribute to class discussion, demonstratiing careful listening to others as well as close reading of the assigned texts;

  3. Demonstrate habits of critical thinking in their contributions to class discussion as well as in their academic work;

  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the meaning of "academic integrity" as it applies to academic work, including proper citation.


Goals for Foundations reflect the specific expectations for GKE-1: Knox graduates will be able to engage with the central questions and methods used within the broad areas of liberal arts learning: arts, humanities, social sciences, science.
