Success Program

The Success program supports first-generation and income-eligible students through advocacy and collaborative programming including supplementary advising, academic skill development, mentoring, financial literacy training, and access to campus opportunities and resources. The program engages students throughout their time at Knox, from a first-year College Success Seminar to career and post-graduate planning for seniors, the goal of the Success program is to empower and connect students as they pursue their Knox degree.

Student Testimonials

"I know many of us overlook these kinds of programs because we think we don't need the help. That's what I felt before learning about Success. I felt as if I was on the top of my game already, but I really wasn't. I barely knew anything when I started during the fall term. After hearing about what Success offers and will offer in the near future, I've become more informed and more knowledgeable about how to actually be independent on my own. Success has the potential to make the most out of first-generation and income eligible students." - Kenny Tran '19

Success Council

Two student representatives from each class comprise the Success Council. During weekly meetings, Success Council meets with the Student Success Coordinator to plan and promote events and opportunities for Success program students. We've held FAFSA workshops, assisted students in crafting their Educational Plans, and bring students and tutors together for a finals study event at the end of every term.

College Success Seminar (CTL 161)

The seminar supports eligible students interested in enhancing academic achievement. Students will have guided opportunities to explore and reflect upon their current learning practices, study holistic learning practices, and enact new ways of learning to promote academic and personal success.
