Knox Raises More than $1 Million in a Match for Mission Challenge
In just a little over 60 hours, Knox College alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends raised more than one million dollars in support of its historic mission of access. The gifts were made as part of the College’s Match for Mission donor challenge, launched when an anonymous donor offered to match every gift made during the last three days of the fiscal year, dollar for dollar up to $500,000.
“Knox’s transformational education is currently at risk, and our Match for Mission challenge helps to ensure that the College continues to live its values in support of access and affordability for all,” said Knox College President C. Andrew McGadney.
The Knox community stepped up to the challenge. Over the course of the three-day campaign, 369 individuals made a gift (some giving for a second or even third time this year), raising $1,022,205 in total. Gifts were made in support of the Knox Fund, the College’s annual giving program, and will be put to work immediately. The Knox Fund supports the College’s historic Venture Boldly comprehensive campaign. More information on the campaign, including opportunities to participate, are available on the Venture Boldly website.

In an email to the Knox community following the conclusion of the campaign, President McGadney thanked all participants for stepping up at this crucial time.
“We Did It! Thanks to you, we’ve reached our Match for Mission goal. Your generosity helped us hit this important milestone, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Because of your support—and the tremendous support of our anonymous donor—Knox will continue to be a community founded on courage, a College that changes lives, and a community that Ventures Boldly.”
