Knox College announced today that Nicole Miller, Ed.D, will join the College’s senior leadership team and Knox community as vice president for student development. Miller currently serves as associate dean of community, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT, and the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT.
Miller comes to Knox with more than 25 years of experience across K–12, higher education, and community-based initiatives, and has dedicated her career to dismantling barriers, cultivating inclusive learning environments, and building intentional bridges between education and meaningful career pathways. She is a dynamic educator, strategist, and workforce development leader who believes deeply in the transformative power of education to change lives, systems, and futures.
“I am excited for Nicole to join our senior leadership team and to bring her commitment to higher education and extensive experience to the Division of Student Development,” said Knox College President C. Andrew McGadney. “Her background in leadership, academic advising, and career development programs is particularly relevant as the College works to prepare Knox students for careers and life in our ever-changing global society.”
Miller joined Goodwin University in 2010, where she has served as assistant dean of student affairs, director of advising, director of the educational opportunity program, and director of student engagement. She assumed her position at the University of Bridgeport after Goodwin acquired the university in 2021. She holds a master’s in higher education administration and a doctorate in education in curriculum, teaching, learning, and leadership from Northeastern University. Her research explores how institutions can more effectively prepare graduates for an increasingly diverse and complex workforce.
“From the moment I completed my campus tour, I knew Knox was a special place—one defined by curiosity, community, and a commitment to ensuring financial barriers never stand between students and their potential,” Miller shared. “I am genuinely thrilled to join the Division of Student Development and to help shape a student experience in which every student is seen, heard, and truly valued.”
Miller will officially assume her role on March 2, 2026.
