One Community

Athletes are already on campus and other students are arriving to participate in pre-orientation programs. The rest of the class will move in on Thursday, September 7, which is the first day of One Community—New Student Orientation 2017 for all incoming students. View the orientation schedule.

During orientation, you'll get to know your classmates, meet faculty and staff, learn how to navigate the campus, understand how learning happens at Knox, and explore your new home of Galesburg.

One part of orientation and a special tradition at Knox is Pumphandle on September 10, the evening before classes begin. Everyone at Knox—incoming and current students, faculty, and staff—form a long twisty line on the south lawn of Old Main. You'll get to meet everyone on campus, face to face, hand to hand.

We look forward to shaking your hand and welcoming you to Knox!

Students Kayak at Green Oaks

Green Oaks Biological Field Station is a place of serene beauty and exceptional natural diversity that has become, for many, a deeply valued part of the Knox experience. A site of learning in various forms—from student Honors projects to day trips to the 10-week interdisciplinary Green Oaks Term—the 700 acre station includes forest, grassland, aquatic habitat, and is the second site in the nation where a tallgrass prairie was restored
