Happy birthday to the 1895 Knox grad, Otto Harbach, after whom Knox's "main-stage" Harbach Theatre was named!...

You may not be moving onto campus this fall, but as the parent or guardian of an incoming Knox student, you are also part of the Knox community.
Over the next few months, your student will receive information about living and learning at Knox in communications from both Academic Affairs and the Division of Student Development. We will copy you on these e-mails. You can also take a look at all of the communications that have gone out in the Communications Archive.
Here within the New Student section of the website, you and your student will find the information you need to prepare for life at Knox. From this section of the website, your student also has access to their own personalized student portal. As the summer progresses, this portal will include all of the forms—from housing preferences and dining options to choosing courses and taking placement exams—that need to be completed before students arrive on campus.
When they access their portal, students can easily see what has been completed and what still needs to be done. Periodically, we will send reminders letting students know which forms they have yet to complete—you will be copied on those communications, too.
If you have questions at any point, please feel free to contact the Division of Student Development at email@example.com or call 309-341-7222.
We look forward to working in partnership with you, with the goal of helping your student achieve great academic and personal success. Together, we can make these next years truly transformative.
Here are a few more things you can do now:
Join the Parent Facebook Group.
This is a place where you can ask questions of other parents or College staff, get updates about what's happening on campus, or simply get to know one another. Also be sure to check out our main Facebook page, Twitter account, Flickr photostream, Instagram account, YouTube channel, and follow us on Snapchat at KnoxCollege1837.
Make plans now for orientation.
Knowing the dates for move-in and orientation will give you an idea of when to arrive on campus and what to expect when you get here. And speaking of arriving on campus, it's never too early to make arrangements for travel and accommodations.
Mark your calendar—Family & Friends Weekend is September 22-24.
There's no better way for you to feel like you're a part of the Knox community than by attending Family & Friends Weekend. Not only do you get a chance to visit your student on campus and learn what his or her life is like at Knox, you get a chance to experience life as a Knox student as well. Watch for more information coming soon.
