This is an exciting time for you and your student, as plans are made for the journey through the next four years. And you are sure to have a lot of questions as you make preparations. We welcome you to the Knox community and invite you to join us for Family and Friends Orientation on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Check-in & Information Fair
9:00-11:00 a.m.
Ford Center for the Fine Arts
Stop here first to pick up your student's residence hall keys and student and family orientation packets. Many campus offices will also be on hand to welcome you to Knox and share information about the Knox experience.

Move in to residence halls
9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Current Knox students will be available to assist and provide directions to your student's room. You may park near the residence hall for unloading. Please move your vehicle to one of the parking lots once you're finished.

Lunch Available
11 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Lincoln Room, Seymour Union
Knox College Dining Services will offer assorted box lunches for your convenience. Grab one to take back to your student's room or take a break with other families. Lunch is free for Knox students and $5 for family and friends. 

Money Matters

We know financing your studen't education can be complex. Financial Aid and business office staff will break down the aid and payment processes and provide tips for managing educational expenses.

Living and Learning at Knox College: What Parents Need to Know

Hear from college faculty and staff about critical topics including academic advising, safety, housing, billing, and helping your student make a successful transition into campus life. Have any last minute questions? This is the time to ask them. 

Welcome to Knox

East Lawn, Old Main (rain location: Harbach Theatre)
Join President Teresa Amott and members of the College senior staff for your family's official welcome into the Knox community. 

Time for Goodbyes

It is time for your student to embark on their journey as a member of the Knox College class of 2021! Wish them well as they jump into their busy orientation schedule and don't forget to visit when you can—family and friends are always welcome.

President's Reception for Family and Friends
4:30-6:00 p.m.
640 North Prairie Street (rain location: Lincoln & Skylight Rooms, Seymour Union)
It has been a long emotional day. Wind down with fellow families at a casual reception at the official residence of the Knox College President.
