Family & Friends Orientation Schedule (Thursday, September 8)

Welcome to Knox! Family and friends of incoming students are an important part of our community, and our partnership with you is critical to your student's success.

With that in mind, Knox invites students' families and friends to attend the following events on Thursday, September 8:

Move into Residence Halls
9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Key Pick-Up, 9 - 11 a.m.)
Current Knox students will be available to assist and provide directions to your student's room. You may park near the residence hall for unloading. Please move your vehicle to one of the parking lots once you're finished.

Lunch Available
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Lincoln Room, Seymour Union)
Knox College Dining Services will offer assorted box lunches for your convenience. Grab one to take back to your student's room or take a break with other families. Lunch is free for Knox students and at a small fee for family and friends.

Money Matters
1:15 - 1:45 p.m. (Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts)
We know that financing your student's education can be complex. Student Financial Services staff will break down the aid and payment processes and provide tips for managing educational expenses.

Living and Learning at Knox College: What Parents Need to Know
2:00 - 3:15 p.m. (Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts)
Hear from College faculty and staff about critical topics including academic advising, safety, housing, billing, and helping your student make a successful transition into campus life. (Your student will have a mandatory meeting with their Resident Assistant at this time.)

Welcome to Knox
3:30 - 4:15 p.m. (Harbach Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts)
Join President Andy McGadney and members of the college senior staff for your family's official welcome into the Knox community.

Time for Goodbyes

It's time for your student to embark on their journey at a Knox student. Wish them well as they jump into their busy orientation schedule.
