Family & Friends Orientation Schedule (Thursday, September 7)

Welcome to Knox! Family and friends of incoming students are an important part of our community, and our partnership with you is critical to your student's success.

With that in mind, Knox invites students' families and friends to attend the following events on Thursday, September 7:

Money Matters
1:15 - 2:00 p.m. (Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts)
Financial Services staff will break down the aid and payment processes and provide tips for managing educational expenses.

Living and Learning at Knox College: What Family & Friends Need to Know
2:00 - 3:15 p.m. (Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts)
Hear from College faculty and staff about critical topics including academic advising, safety, housing, and helping your student make a successful transition into campus life. If you have any last minute questions to ask, this is the time to ask. (Your student will have a mandatory meeting with their Resident Assistant at this time.)

Welcome to Knox
3:30 - 4:00 p.m. (South Lawn of Old Main)
Join President Andy McGadney and members of the College senior staff for your family's official welcome into the Knox community.

Time for Goodbyes
4:00 p.m. (South Lawn of Old Main)
It's time for your student to embark on their journey as a Knox student. Wish them well as they jump into their busy orientation schedule.

President's Reception for Family and Friends
4:30 - 6:00 p.m. (Ingersoll House, 640 N. Prairie Street)
Wind down with fellow families at a casual reception at the President's home. There will be shuttles running from Alumni Hall to the President's  home.
