Planning for Textbooks and Materials

When you arrive on campus, you will meet with your advisor to finalize your final course schedule, based on the course preferences you submitted. You should plan on about $300 for books and materials per term and be prepared to spend this at the Knox College Bookstore during your first few days on campus as your course selections are finalized. You can search for the books required for each section of each course at the Knox Bookstore website. Certain courses will include additional costs that you must pay early on (like online access codes for homework, art supplies for art courses, or fees for labs or music lessons).

Textbooks and other course materials are a vital part of your college educational experience, so you must budget for purchasing or renting books and course materials each term. Do not assume there will be an option to access these materials through the Knox Library or other avenues. After this first term, you will be pre-registering for your courses for each term far in advance and so will have the list of required course materials much earlier as well.
