Knox is making great strides to strengthen the historic Knox-Galesburg relationship through joint partnerships,  community education, and capital improvements. Knox and Carl Sandburg Colleges recently launched a joint working group to build on the success of the schools’ current transfer and dual-admission agreement, as well as the Gale Scholars Program, to ensure that our local and regional communities are aware of the world-class educational opportunities available to them. The recently announced $2 million grant from the State of Illinois to update and improve Standish Park, a one-block park and arboretum that connects Knox to downtown Galesburg, is a truly transformative project for Knox and Galesburg. College 4 Kids, the beloved community education program hosted by Knox, has found renewed success after the recent pandemic, thanks to the enthusiasm and support of the Knox and Galesburg communities. In addition, Knox faculty, staff, students, and alumni are deeply involved in the community through leadership on local boards and serving in local, regional and state government  positions, volunteering to support community organizations, owning local business.
