Since 2021, Knox has invested more  than $40 million in new facilities and renovations to ensure that our students live and learn in modern, accessible, and sustainable facilities. Philanthropic support from individual donors, granting agencies, the State of Illinois, and additional strategic investments have resulted in a multi-year, campus-wide accessibility study and updates like a new elevator in George Davis Hall; the renewal of Green Oaks with the addition of the new Knight Living and Learning Center and a renovated Schurr Hall; a refresh of first-year residence halls; the update and renewal of athletic facilities, including the addition of lights to Prats Field, allowing men’s and women’s soccer to host night games, and the resurfacing of T. Fleming Fieldhouse, which will allow Knox to host indoor track and field events; the ongoing renovation of the C-Wing of the Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center (SMC), which houses chemistry classrooms, labs, and office spaces, and the renovation of current SMC office space into an environmental science lab; and plans for a reimagining of Auxiliary Gymnasium as a vibrant campus welcome center.
