Knox offers a variety of benefits to faculty and staff—from health, dental, and vision plans to a generous tuition remission program.
Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
You'll have the choice of two health insurance plans: a PPO or a High Deductible health plan (HDHP) with a health savings account (HSA) option. Knox also offers dental and vision plans.
Employee Assistance Program
Employees and their family members have access to counseling for a wide range of personal problems, including marriage and family issues, alcoholism, drug abuse, financial problems, eating disorders, stress, depression, and anxiety. Services are completely confidential.
Tuition Remission Eligible employees, retirees, and/or dependents may be able to take advantage of tuition benefits after two years of employment, including tuition remission at Knox, the ACM Tuition Remission Program, Tuition Exchange, or $500 tuition reimbursement.
Salaried staff are eligible for 20 vacation days per year. Vacation time for hourly staff is prorated and varies according to how long the employee has been working for Knox.
Knox observes 11 holidays, including two floating holidays that can be taken any time during the calendar year, with supervisory approval.
Enjoy time with friends and family during our yearly winter closure, which falls between Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Knox has a generous sick leave policy for both hourly and salaried employees.
New Parent Leave
Employees can receive up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave. Adjustments can be made for faculty given their teaching responsibilities.
Employees are given up to five paid days off in the event of the death of a partner/spouse, parent/stepparent, sibling, or child/stepchild/grandchild; three days for a parent/stepparent-in-law or grandparent/step-grandparent; and one day for other relatives. Time off to attend the funeral of a close friend or neighbor may be requested.
Knox's retirement program provides employees with the option to invest retirement funds through TIAA. The College offers matching funds after two years of employment.
Knox provides group life insurance for all benefits-eligible employees. Spouses/partners and dependent children are covered for dependent life benefits. The College pays the entire cost of the life insurance for employees, dependents, and retirees. There is no waiting period.
Optional Term Life Insurance
Employees may apply for additional term life insurance for themselves and their dependents. For additional information, contact the College's Human Resources Department.
College employees receive free attendance at athletic events, plays, concerts, outside speakers and other special events, as well as use of the Seymour Library, Green Oaks in nearby Victoria, the fitness center, and other athletic facilities.
