Welcome to your Knox Educational Experience! This message and others you will receive in the coming months will guide your first steps in a journey of intellectual discovery we will share.
Your academic advisor, with whom you will meet virtually in mid-July when you select your courses, plays a major role in the start of your academic journey. Prepare for your mid-July meeting with your academic advisor by ensuring you log into your Pre-Arrival Tracker and complete these steps:
Housing and Preceptorial Preferences – In addition to telling us about your housing preferences, you also tell us your preferred First-Year Preceptorial course.
Placement Exams – By the end of the week of May 9, the College will provide placement exam instructions in your Pre-Arrival Tracker. Completing these exams ensures that your advisor can help you find courses that best match your interests and abilities.
You will learn more about academics at Knox during new student orientation, which begins Thursday, September 8 for all incoming students (check out the timeline of events leading up to orientation).
Here are some extra resources you can review with your family:
Academics Page (under the New Student section of our website) – a Frequently Asked Questions list of common questions students ask about preparing for academic life at Knox.
Email Ask a Prof (askaprof@knox.edu) – Want to know more about academics at Knox before you meet with your advisor? Email us at the above address, and a real Knox professor will answer your questions.
I look forward to seeing you this fall!
