Choose Your Courses For Fall Term
In the next few weeks, your academic advisor will be reaching out to you via your Knox email address to set up a meeting with you. During this meeting, you'll get to know each other and choose your courses for fall term.
How can you prepare for the meeting? First, be sure that you have taken placement exams and have requested that your final transcripts and any relevant test scores (AP, IB, GCE), and any college records be sent to email@example.com. This information will help your advisor determine the appropriate level of coursework that you should take.
You should also take some time to familiarize yourself with the types of courses you'll take during your academic journey. Then, take a look at the 2021 Fall Term Course Schedule. You can learn more about courses by looking at the course descriptions under Departments and Courses of Study. Jot down a list of courses that look interesting to you to discuss in your meeting. Remember that some courses may already be full, so while you will only be registering for three courses, your list should include some additional options.
To answer any questions you may have about academics at Knox—from placement exams and our 10-week terms to the Honor Code—you are invited to join a virtual Q&A on Monday, July 12, at 5 p.m. CST. We will also have a session for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the health professions on Monday, July 19, at 5 p.m. CST. Get login info and submit questions (you'll also be able to ask questions during the events) on your Pre-Arrival Tracker.
Can't make it to either of these events? We will be recording the sessions and will share the links in future emails.
If you have questions before you meet with your advisor, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org. Ask-a-Prof is a real Knox professor who will be available to answer questions about courses, academic programs and opportunities, or anything else you would like to know about your academic life at Knox.
