Knox to Celebrate the Inauguration of President C. Andrew McGadney
Next week is the Inauguration of the twentieth president of Knox College, C. Andrew McGadney. The celebration starts on Thursday, May 5, with academic symposia–a series of conversations and panels with honorary degree recipients and Knox alumni and faculty, followed by a community celebration on Seminary Street. The events culminate in the official installation and investiture on Friday, May 6, at 11:00 am, including the awarding of honorary degrees to Sara Jane Ahmed '12, a financial and environmental strategist leading a worldwide initiative to build clean energy economies for people in regions most affected by climate change; David A. Greene, twentieth president of Colby College in Waterville, Maine; and Haki R. Madhubuti, a best-selling author, poet, publisher, editor, and educator, who is widely regarded as one of the architects of the Black Arts Movement.
A recording of the installation and investiture will be available following the ceremony. For more information about the Inauguration, visit www.knox.edu/inauguration.
