A book by Thomas Wolf ’69, The Called Shot: Babe Ruth, the Chicago Cubs, and the Unforgettable Major League Baseball Season of 1932 (University of Nebraska Press), has won recognition for excellence. Sports Collectors Digest selected Wolf’s work as “Best Baseball Book of 2020.” In addition, the book was a finalist for the prestigious 2021 Seymour Medal, an award given by the Society of American Baseball Research to honor “the best book of baseball history or biography of the preceding year.”
Jaclynn Jutting ’00 wrote an article, “Teaching the Young Director to Cast Inclusively,” which was published in the November 2020 issue of Theatre Topics.
Heidi Leuszler ’92 discussed sustainable agriculture and her work as an ecologist, professor, and cottage baker in Smile Politely magazine. She and her daughter operate Berries and Flour: Bakery and Harvest Goods in Champaign, Illinois.
