Frank McAndrew, Cornelia H. Dudley Professor of Psychology, wrote a short essay for The Conversation's "Curious Kids" series in which academic experts respond to questions sent in by children and teenagers. The question was: "Why do old people hate new music?"
BC Latino has listed Gina Franco’s collection of poems, The Accidental, among their top 10 2019 Latino books of 2019. Meanwhile, Franco’s essay, “‘Where nothing is, but all things seem’: Simile and Negation,” was just published with Mentor & Muse: Essays from Poets to Poets. It was written in response to an email conversation and interview with Shannon K. Winston and was solicited by the editors of Mentor & Muse.

Two poems by Cyn Kitchen Fitch ’00, associate professor of English, “Incandescent” and “Morning Supplication,” were published in the November 2019 issue of Santa Barbara Literary Journal.
Cate Denial, Bright Professor of American History, was a featured guest on Rochester NPR’s show, Connections. Along with Professor Michael Oberg of SUNY-Geneseo, Denial talked about upgrading, the practice of providing detailed feedback to students, and fewer letter grades. Listen to the program.
Sara O’Brien, assistant professor of psychology, is co-author on a paper accepted for publication in the journal Psychology of Consciousness: Theory, Research, and Practice, entitled “Dissociation as a Multidimensional Transdiagnostic Symptom.” Co-authors were researchers at the VA Boston Healthcare System, Virginia Tech, and the University of Notre Dame.
Scott DeWitt, assistant professor of educational studies, was a panelist at the National Council for the Social Studies conference addressing the topic: “Taking Informed Action: How to Structure and Support Student Action in K-12 Social Studies Classrooms.”
