March 18, 2020

In order to support the current CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, we will be transitioning our meal service from the Gizmo to Hard Knox and the Gizmo will be closed.

Until further notice, dining hours for Hard Knox will be:

7:30am – 9:30am
11:00am – 1:00pm
4:30pm – 6:30pm

When visiting the dining room, you will notice some significant changes in our service style. We will continue to monitor the situation as new guidelines and mandates present themselves.  I want to thank you all for your patience during this unprecedented time in our history.

Temporary Hard Knox modifications:

  • All meals will be served on a to-go basis in take-out containers. Seating areas will be unavailable.
  • All meals will be offered at the reduced price of $7. Payment can be made via meal swipes (beginning at dinner March 24), Flex Dollars, Dining Dollars, cash, and credit.
  • There will be two lines to obtain food. Both lines contain the same food options, which take into account the dietary and religious needs of our community. All food, including beverages, will be served at the counters. Personal beverage bottles are not permitted. Reuse clamshells have also been temporarily suspended.
  • Traffic patterns have been marked on the floor to encourage social distancing of 6 feet.
  • Guests will exit through the front dining office and exits are marked.

New pizza option:

From 2pm through 4pm each day, we will be offering a takeout pizza special: Any large pizza and a gallon of any fountain beverage for $10.00. All of our pizzas now feature organic crust.  Orders can be placed by calling (309) 341-7982.

These options are all also available to faculty and staff.

Please feel free to direct any questions to me by e-mail or on my cell phone at (847) 477-3736.
