Dear Knox Community, 

The Student and Employee Wellness Advisory Group has finalized its protocol for summer visitors to campus. This protocol is in effect until August 10, 2020, prior to which you will receive further guidance. The information below spells out the public health measures we are taking. Please note that Protocol for Approved Visitors should be sent to any approved visitors by you in advance of their arrival to campus.

COVID-19 Interim Protocol for Campus Visitors: Summer 2020 

In order to promote the safety of our community, access to campus is restricted to approved students, employees, and essential visitors. A visitor is defined as any individual coming to campus who is not a Knox College employee or current student. 

Essential visitors may include the following: 

Contractors, Vendors, and other Essential Partners (contact hr@knox.edu) Decisions regarding campus visits by contractors, vendors, and other partners must be approved by the appropriate vice president at least 48 hours in advance of the visit (excepting emergencies). Visitors in this category must check in with Human Resources at the Administrative Services Building upon arrival to campus and follow the protocol below. (This does not include UPS, FedEx, and other delivery services that have their own no-contact protocols in place.) 

Admission Visitors (including Athletics visitors) (contact admission@knox.edu) The Office of Admission is conducting limited, modified on-campus visits. Prospective students and their families are welcome on campus by appointment only, and must check in with Admission at Alumni Hall upon arrival to campus and follow the protocol below. 

Family Members Assisting Students (contact campuslife@knox.edu) Students residing on campus may have limited family members visit for a defined period of time. Family visitors must be approved by the Campus Life Office at least 48 hours in advance of the visit and must check in with Campus Safety at the Administrative Services Building upon arrival to campus and follow the protocol below. 

Students and their families who are retrieving their belongings from housing are permitted on campus under the current move-out protocol until July 15. Questions regarding retrieving belongings can be directed to moveout2020@knox.edu

All guests not listed in the above categories are non-essential visitors and should not be on campus. Rare exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and should be directed to the appropriate vice president (for employees) or the Vice President for Student Development (for students). Urgent requests may be communicated by phone to Campus Safety at (309) 341-7979. 

Guest Use of On-campus Facilities During this time, campus facilities (such as the Library and fitness facilities) are closed to members of the greater Galesburg community. The registration of any third-party and external events has been suspended until further notice.
