The Commencement ceremony is held outside on the South Lawn of Old Main. Seating is open, so arrive early to get your seats!
Students will receive details of the Commencement ceremony in the spring term. Shortly after the start of winter term, all graduates will be asked to check in with the Registrar to ensure they have completed all requirements for graduation. Parents of students checked in to walk in the ceremony will receive a invitation in April 2018. More details are available on the Parent & Family page.
Knox College faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to attend the ceremony and all Commencement events as their schedules allow. Information about tickets for the picnic lunch will be distributed during spring term.
We encourage alumni to bring your own seating, such as lawn chairs. Members of the Knox-Lombard Fifty Year Club will have reserved seating. For more information, contact the FYC at 309-341-7476 or 50YearClub@knox.edu.

Members of the general public are welcome to attend Commencement. However, you are encouraged to bring your own seating, such as lawn chairs.

Free guest wifi will be available the day of Commencement for our guests. Details will be distributed on campus at the information table.
A picnic lunch will be served after the ceremony on the lawn south of Seymour Union. Lunch tickets will be available for purchase in late spring. Check back here in early May. Reservations can be made until midnight on May 29. Attendance is limited to graduates, their families, trustees, faculty, staff, and invited guests with lunch tickets. In the event of severe weather, the picnic will be held in Seymour Union. You are also welcome to eat lunch off campus at one of many Galesburg restaurants.
Due to construction and the Run Galesburg Run race in downtown Galesburg, Parts of Main and Seminary streets will be closed.
Visitors arriving from I-74, should continue on to Hwy 34 to exit at the Henderson Street exit. Visitors coming from the hotels near I-74 (Holiday Inn Express, Baymont Inn, and Prairie Inn) should take Main Street to Allens Road, to South Street for access to campus.
For visitors arriving on Hwy-34, take the Henderson Street exit and follow Henderson Street south to Main Street. Then take Main Street east to Cherry Street.
Parking is available in campus lots and at the Knox County Courthouse at the corner of Cherry and South Streets.
