The Office of Spiritual Life seeks to nurture the ethics and identities of the Knox community by expanding our connection to our community and our world. The office strives to help students navigate and define their own experiences, whether those be a religious, humanist, atheist, or something beyond or in between.
In addition, religious literacy remains valuable in a world where we must strive to respect and understand our increasingly diverse neighbors. The Office of Spiritual Life carries the tradition of the liberal arts by teaching students to communicate with people from all walks of life.
Dialogue is a central tenet of spiritual life at Knox. Through spiritual and political dialogues, the Knox community can move towards understanding and allyship.
Interfaith Peer Educators
The Interfaith Peer Educators are a team of student leaders who organize spiritual programming and resources for the campus in hopes of increasing awareness and fostering a safe and supportive community for religious and spiritual identities. They collaborate on projects and events with student spiritual organizations and facilitate engaging, respectful, and enlightening, interfaith and intercultural dialogues regarding spirituality and its intersections with other identities.

Interfaith dinners
Spiritual Life and the Interfaith Peer Educators host monthly dinners where students and Knox community members are welcome to join us for a meal and have conversations centered around our diverse spiritual identities and practices. These dinners are intended to help us find common ground and build understanding of other faiths and religions from around the globe.
Coffee and A Conversation:
Spiritual Life and the Interfaith Peer Educators host a monthly coffee hour, usually during the lunch hour. These coffee hours are intended to inspire respectful and engaging interfaith and intercultural conversations around topics such as, generosity, forgiveness, equality, justice, grace, and more. This is a great opportunity to learn from each other while enjoying some delicious coffee and treats.
Ramadan Observance:
Every year, in collaboration with islamic club, we host muslim identifying students for Ramadan. Iftar and suhoor meals are provided daily, travel arrangements are made for offering Taraweeh and Friday prayers in a mosque, HOPE Center Sanctuary is available for prayers and events for the community throughout the month. We mark the end of Ramadan by organizing an Eid Celebration where all community members are welcome.
