Monica Berlin's Nostalgia for a World Where We Can Live was awarded the 2017 Crab Orchard Poetry Open prize, and will be published this fall by Southern Illinois University Press. She is also the author of a chapbook of essays, Your Small Towns of Adult Sorrow & Melancholy, a chapbook of poems, From Maybe To Region, and No Shape Bends the River So Long, written in collaboration with Beth Marzoni, and awarded the New Measure Poetry Prize.
On faculty since 1998, Berlin is Professor of English, and serves as the associate director of the Program in Creative Writing and chair of the Department.
