This annual show is named after Al Young '69 a long-time teacher in Belleville, IL who died in 1993. Young began making gifts toward art prizes in 1968, while still a student. Since 1993, gifts have been supported by gifts from Young's sister, Ann A. Young '68 and several of the awards are named in honor of their parents, Albert G. Young and Anna Elisabeth Young.

The show also provides a venue for the awarding of other endowed prizes in art. Additional awards are made possible by Blick Art Materials, an invaluable supporter of the Knox College art program. This year's events are scheduled for Friday, May 4.

The juror will be New York critic and painter, John Zinsser, who will delivering a talk at 4:30, in the CFA Round Room. The awards ceremony will follow, at 5:30.
