Muslim students will present what the Hijab means from their cultural and religious perspectives. And guest speaker Tahera Ahmed will give an over view and discuss the theological implications from a femnist point of view.
We will end the evening with any who would like will receive a scarf and will then get to participate in Hijab Day on Thursday, February 1st. Hijab Day is an international event that takes place on college campus's and universities around the globe to give women the opportunity to experience what it is like to do everyday tasks wearing the Hijab and for women to stand in solidarity with their Muslim sisters!
