Interested in study in Dublin on the IES Writers Program? Curious about IES programs abroad?  Join Erin McIntree and program director and writer Stephen McMahon for this early evening info session in Alumni Hall.

Whether you approach writing as a future vocation or as a creative outlet, IES courses help you discover and explore your voice and hone your craft. From short story writing and the graphic novel to digital communication and writing for the screen, our courses cover a wide variety of styles and genres. Choose from a range of writing-related courses, Irish studies courses, or an internship or service learning placement to create your 15-credit program.

Participating in a writing-focused internship or service learning placement and accompanying seminar is a unique way to apply what you’re learning in your writing classes within a real-world setting. Each semester, an anthology of all types of student work will be compiled, and you'll also have the option of reading it in front of an audience.

Dublin will also be your classroom. Inspiration abounds in this city that writers such as Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Seamus Heaney, and Jonathan Swift called home. Visit the Dublin Writers Museum and James Joyce Cultural Centre to explore the city’s rich literary past, and don’t miss seeing the 7th century Book of Kells housed in Trinity College Dublin. Does it get much better for a writer?
