For five years, Linda Moses has been photographing her parents at her childhood home in Williamsburg, Virginia. The work began out of instinct: following her uncle's terminal diagnosis and death in early 2019, she witnessed a noticeable change in the ways her parents interacted with one another and how they approached conversations around mortality. Comprising still and moving images, It Feels Like I'm Right There With You examines the role of the camera in the processes of empathy and care as she and her parents age.

 

Linda Moses is an artist and educator currently teaching at Knox College. She holds a BA in Art History from William and Mary and an MFA in Art Photography from Syracuse University. Her project, To Know You (Now and Then) was awarded a light Work Grant in Photography from Light Work Lab in Syracuse, New York. Her book of the same title was published by Smog Press in 2023.
