Lecture Description: What time is it right now in Narnia, Hyrule, or Vice City? Does a question like that even make sense? In this talk, Kim will go over the basics of the philosophy of time to get an understanding of what it means for something to be past, present, or future and argue that sometimes fictional events can be past, present, or future. This is a meaningful conclusion because it expands our understanding of fiction and fictional truth. In case you're not enticed yet: Kim will be focusing on "self-involving interactive fictions," i.e. first-person video games!
