We are so excited to welcome you all to Knox Studio Theatre! This fall term, you have four different opportunities to get involved in a studio production. There are plenty of roles to be filled, and no previous theatre experience is needed for any of them! Auditions for all of these productions will be held on September 15th in the Harbach Theatre. There is no need to have a monologue prepared, though it is recommended if you are a theatre major. Sides will be provided to you the day of the audition.

If you are interested in auditioning for any of the below productions, please fill out the form.

Sure Thing by David Ives - October 1st and 2nd
Directed by Ro Ivaniszek (nrivaniszek@knox.edu)
Roles: 2 X
Two people meet in a cafe. When one is told that the empty seat is taken and he can’t sit there, a bell rings—and they are given another chance. They must stumble their way through a conversational minefield as the bell interrupts each false start, gaffe, and faux pas on the way to falling in love.

New Plays Workshop - October 8th and 9th
Coordinated by Rose Stout (restout@knox.edu) and Porter (jbporter@knox.edu)
New Plays Workshop is Knox Theatre's dedicated space to showcase original works created by Knox playwrights. The time commitment is very light and it can serve as an excellent introduction to the world of theatre and acting.

Not Like That by Meghan McGuire - October 15th and 16th
Directed by Alexis Brown (aebrown@knox.edu)
Roles: 2 F
Through snippets of memories taken from 13 years of their lives, Shelley and Marjorie tell a story about the little things that add up over time to make us who we are, and about how those little things can sometimes come between us and the people we love most.

Dr. Voynich and Her Children by Leanna Keyes - October 29th and 30th
Directed by Olive Colangelo (nmcolangelo@knox.edu)
Roles: 3 F, 1 Transfemme, 1 F or X

Set in a speculative near-future in which Roe v. Wade has been repealed, Doctor Rue Voynich and her apprentice Fade travel the American Heartland dispensing herbal medications. Covertly, they perform abortions, which have been illegal since the days of the first woman president, Ivanka Trump. Fade tries to help local youth Hannah complete her abortion, using knowledge from an ancient manuscript, before her mother and the sheriff can nail them for the “attempted murder of an unborn person.”

We look forward to seeing you at auditions!
