When I Volunteer, I am Investing in the World.

“Volunteering actively keeps me connected to Knox. I love watching how students and alumni are 'figuring things out' as they learn and grow in their classes and careers. I am an advocate for internships and career workshops that provide students with opportunities to explore career paths. Future Knox generations are pioneers, and investing in them invests in me too.”

Volunteers Share Experiences that Inspire Students

“Psychology tells us that we have higher self-efficacy if we see others like us doing what we want to do. That is the experience that alumni give to aspiring current students. Our alumni spend time talking about their journeys and offering advice about how to approach decisions of what to pursue after Knox, giving our students a perspective outside of the classroom.”

Volunteers are Advisors and Friends

Arsalan Najeeb Wyne '20 was volunteering in the Office of International Services, and he was one of the first people l met. He served as not just a source of guidance for me but someone who helped me find my footing and voice at Knox - and cooked us delicious meals that reminded me of home. He continues to be a great friend and advisor to me and so many of my friends, even as an alum—and for that, we are all incredibly grateful. ”
