Photo Essay by John Williams '12

As a student, Knox at night was often a stressful time for me. Working on that paper before a midnight deadline, publishing the current issue of The Knox Student, or staying up late studying for that midterm the next day, often kept me up extra late. Certainly there were moments of joy and happiness, but my brain holds on to the late nights driven by hard work and determination.

While these are experiences common to all students, I now have the opportunity as Knox's photographer to capture individuals, moments, and events on and around campus, including life after sunset. Looking at Knox without the stresses of being a student or the distractions that come with daylight, my eyes were opened to a transformed campus that I hadn't noticed before.

This photo essay provides a glimpse into this world, both vibrant and serene, highlighting the Knox community and the campus itself. I hope it reminds you of your late nights on campus or shows an event or place that you've forgotten or didn't have time to appreciate before.
