As part of the Knox 2018 Strategic Plan, the Chicago Connections program was established to connect pre-health students with Knox's vast network of medical alumni, specifically in the Chicagoland area, giving them a firsthand look at how Knox alumni are succeeding in healthcare.

The connections program involves a two-and-a-half day shadowing trip for pre-health students to observe medical professionals, network with alumni, and experience Chicago culture and the daily life of a healthcare professional. The connections program brings students into alumni workplaces to explore careers and broaden their perspective on what they can do with a liberal arts education.

Hosted with the Bastian Family Career Center, this program also helps students improve their communication skills, learn to write professional e-mails and letters, develop a quality Linkedin profile, and build their professional network.

How you can get involved

The trips will be decided based on industries in particular cities with a larger mass of alumni to expose students to urban environments. If you would like to establish a connections program in your region and help navigate the path from college to career, contact us today.
