Llimited to 10 travelers. $3,256 double occupancy ($3,816 single)
Join Knox alumni and friends for an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime tour of Southeast Alaska that explores the nature and culture of this amazing region. Nicolaas Mink , president of Sitka Salmon Shares, will lead this 8-day/7-night tour that includes deluxe lodging in Sitka, Alaska, a coastal village on Baranof Island surrounded by the majestic 17-million acre Tongass National Forest.
Nic splits his time between Sitka and Illinois, running a business that started in 2011 after he and two Knox students returned from a fishing trip in Alaska. The trip brought up conversations on responsibility, fishing practices, and sustainable food systems and, thus, Sitka Salmon Shares was born.
Benefit from Nic's knowledge and love of the area as you go fishing on a commercial fishing vessel, journey into the wilderness surrounding Sitka on multiple day-long excursions with local guides and naturalists, and take advantage of multiple opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of this majestic Alaskan place.
