Nominations for At Large Representatives on the Alumni Council are being accepted through July 31, 2026.
Candidates will be reviewed by the Operating, Governance, and Membership Committee, which will recommend a slate of nominees for Council approval. New members will be welcomed at the fall meeting in October 2026, with orientation provided beforehand.
While alumni from all class years are encouraged to apply, the Council is especially interested in nominations from the classes of 2020–2026 and 1990–1999 to help ensure representation across all decades of Knox alumni.
At-Large Members are appointed to a three-year term and may be reappointed for one additional three-year term. Council members:
Serve as active participants on at least one Council committee.
Promote volunteer opportunities and alumni events while providing ideas for alumni engagement.
Act as ambassadors for the College by supporting alumni clubs and programs in their region.
The Alumni Council is focused on engagement and connection. It has no fiduciary responsibilities, but members are expected to give to the Knox Fund in a way that is meaningful to them. There is no minimum gift requirement. The Council does not set College policy and is not a pathway to the Board of Trustees. Current committee work includes:
Career Center Connections and Outreach
Alumni Awards
Knox Club Planning
Operating, Governance, and Membership
Committee initiatives may evolve from year to year based on the needs of the College and alumni community.
Time Commitment
The Alumni Council meets twice annually, once in the spring and once during Homecoming weekend in the fall. Members are expected to attend meetings in person when possible, with virtual participation available if travel is not feasible.
Between Council meetings, members participate in committee work conducted virtually. Overall, the estimated time commitment averages approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per month, including Council meetings.
