We are excited to host organizations that actively work to highlight the liberal arts in general and the human-powered Knox education in particular to talented, curious, and engaged high school students.
To request a group visit at Knox College, please submit your request at least 30 days prior to the intended visit date. We will review your request and let you know if we can accommodate your group. We receive a large number of group visit requests each year, and we may not be able to accommodate all groups. We'll contact you as soon as we've reviewed your request.
Groups should be comprised of talented and curious high school-aged students and there should be appropriate chaperones to accompany the group.
We have hosted a large variety of groups of various sizes. Once your request for a group visit has been accepted, our visit coordinator will work with you to make sure your group has an individualized visit that will speak to the needs of your group’s participants.
The best time for a group visit is Monday through Friday during the months of January, February, March, May, June, and July. Requests for other months of the year may be difficult to accommodate.
Information Session: We’ll provide an introduction to the human-powered Knox experience, which highlights the student experience at Knox: experiential learning, research and creative work, internships, study abroad, and civic engagement. (45 minutes)
Campus Tour: A current Knox student will guide you on tour of campus. Students will see academic buildings—classrooms and laboratories, a residence hall—and learn more about the student experience. (60 minutes)
Eat in our dining hall: Your students can have lunch on campus at a reduced cost. If you plan to eat on campus, please let us know well in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Eat locally: If your group would like to explore Galesburg, a great way to get started would be to eat locally. With specialty pizza, amazing sandwiches and salads, and the best smoothies you’ve ever had, Galesburg eating has a lot to offer.
Picnic on campus: We can make arrangements to provide your group with a location on campus to eat your own lunches.
